Summary

ShredMode is a local-first health and fitness app by Quietfield Technologies. ShredMode handles health and fitness data (such as weight, body fat, nutrition and calorie logs, workouts, activity history, progress records, and step data) to provide tracking and progress features. Most core app data stays on your device unless you choose to use optional connected features.

What data ShredMode handles

ShredMode is a local-first app. Core app data is primarily stored on your device, including health and fitness data such as:

  • Weight and body fat entries
  • Nutrition and calorie logs (foods, meals, macros, nutrition history)
  • Workouts and activity history (including progress records)
  • Step data and related activity metrics

If you enable optional connected features, ShredMode may also handle:

  • Google account information such as your email address and Google user identifier for sign-in
  • Google Drive app data backups if you enable backup and restore (these backups may include your ShredMode local database and the health and fitness data listed above)
  • Food text, workout descriptions, or food photos that you submit for AI-assisted analysis
  • Diagnostic and crash information used to monitor and improve app reliability
  • On iOS only: if you enable Apple Health access, ShredMode may read step count and active energy burned from Apple Health (based on the permissions you grant)

How data is used

ShredMode uses data to:

  • Operate core health and fitness tracking features on your device (including calculations and progress views)
  • Enable optional Google Sign-In
  • Enable optional Google Drive backup and restore
  • Analyze food text, workout descriptions, or food photos when you use AI-assisted features
  • Detect, diagnose, and fix crashes or reliability issues

Third-party services

ShredMode may use third-party services to provide optional features or app reliability functions, including:

  • Google, for sign-in and optional Google Drive backup and restore
  • An AI service provider (Google Gemini), via serverless infrastructure, to process AI-assisted food and workout analysis requests that you initiate
  • Sentry, for crash reporting and diagnostics

Data sharing and storage

Quietfield Technologies does not operate a general hosted user database for core ShredMode health and fitness data. Most core app data remains on your device unless you enable optional connected features.

When optional connected features are used, some data may be transmitted off-device to the service providers described in this policy to perform the requested functionality (for example, uploading your local database to Google Drive for backup, or processing text/photos you submit for AI analysis). Data transmitted off-device is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections.

Quietfield Technologies does not sell your personal data.

Data retention and deletion

ShredMode is a local-first app. Quietfield Technologies does not operate a general hosted user database for core ShredMode data such as weight entries, workouts, food logs, nutrition history, or progress records.

To request deletion assistance, email support@quietfieldtechnologies.com with the subject line ShredMode Account Deletion.

Quietfield Technologies can delete records under its direct control related to your request and support history, including support correspondence and limited service records where applicable.

Some data is controlled by you or your platform provider and must be removed separately:

  • Local app data on your device: remove by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app.
  • Google Drive backup data: if you enabled backup, backup files may be stored in your Google account's app data area and must be removed from that Google account.
  • Google account connection: you can disconnect Google inside the app under Account & Data > Disconnect Google.

AI-assisted analysis requests are transmitted off-device to return a result. Quietfield Technologies does not maintain a general hosted database of these requests; limited logs may be retained to troubleshoot errors.

Quietfield Technologies may retain limited support and compliance records related to deletion requests for up to 90 days after request completion, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
