Summary

ShredMode is a local-first calorie, macro, body-weight, steps, and training log from Quietfield Technologies. Core app data is stored on your device. Google connection, Google Drive AppData backup, Apple Health step sync, AI estimates, and diagnostics are optional connected features described below.

What data ShredMode handles

Core ShredMode data is primarily stored on your device and may include:

  • Profile settings used for estimates, such as age, sex, height, weight, body fat, goals, and targets
  • Weight, body fat, nutrition, calorie, food, meal, macro, and progress records
  • Training activity definitions, sessions, sets, workout calories, and activity history
  • Step data and related activity metrics

Optional connected features may also handle:

  • Google account information such as email address and Google user identifier when you connect Google
  • Google Drive AppData backups containing your ShredMode local database when you enable backup and restore
  • Food text, food photos, workout details, and relevant profile context when you explicitly use AI estimates
  • Diagnostic and crash information used to monitor and improve reliability
  • On iOS only: Apple Health step count and active energy burned, based on the permissions you grant

How data is used

ShredMode uses data to:

  • Operate local calorie, macro, progress, steps, and training features
  • Generate calculations and estimates shown to you in the app
  • Connect Google only when you choose to use AI estimates or Google Drive backup and restore
  • Create and restore Google Drive AppData backups at your direction or while backup is enabled
  • Process AI estimate requests that you initiate after granting AI data-sharing consent
  • Detect, diagnose, and fix crashes or reliability issues

AI estimates and third-party AI

AI estimates are optional. Before ShredMode sends AI request data off-device, the app asks for explicit AI data-sharing consent. If you allow AI data sharing, ShredMode sends the food text or photo, workout details, and relevant profile context you provide through Quietfield Technologies servers to Google Gemini to generate an estimate.

You can revoke AI data-sharing consent inside the app under Account & Data > AI Data Sharing. Revoking consent stops new AI estimate requests until you allow AI data sharing again.

Apple Health

Apple Health access is optional and iOS-only. If you grant permission, ShredMode reads step count and active energy burned to sync steps and avoid double-counting workout calories. ShredMode does not write Apple Health data and does not use Apple Health data for advertising, marketing, or data mining.

ShredMode is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or provide medical advice.

Third-party services

ShredMode may use these services to provide optional features and reliability functions:

  • Google, for optional Google connection and Google Drive AppData backup and restore
  • Google Gemini, through Quietfield Technologies serverless functions, for AI-assisted food and workout analysis that you initiate
  • Sentry, for crash reporting and diagnostics. ShredMode limits diagnostics to reliability data and does not use diagnostics for advertising.

Data sharing and storage

Quietfield Technologies does not operate a general hosted user database for core ShredMode health and fitness data. Most core app data remains on your device unless you enable optional connected features.

When optional connected features are used, some data may be transmitted off-device to perform the requested functionality, such as uploading your local database to Google Drive AppData for backup or processing data you submit for AI analysis. Data transmitted off-device is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections.

Quietfield Technologies does not sell your personal data.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete ShredMode account and app data inside the app under Account & Data > Delete Account & Data. This deletes local ShredMode data on the device and, when Google is connected, app-created Google Drive AppData backups for that Google connection. Local backup files you exported yourself remain where you saved them.

You can also disconnect Google inside the app under Account & Data > Disconnect Google. Disconnecting Google stops AI and Drive backup access on that device but does not by itself delete local app data.

AI data-sharing consent can be revoked in Account & Data > AI Data Sharing.

To request deletion assistance, email support@quietfieldtechnologies.com with the subject line ShredMode Account Deletion. Quietfield Technologies can delete records under its direct control related to your request and support history, including support correspondence and limited service records where applicable.

Quietfield Technologies may retain limited support and compliance records related to deletion requests for up to 90 days after request completion, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
